OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA.–The Oklahoma Warriors have hired Cory Berberian as Director of Broadcasting and Communications ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Berberian, 24, officially joined the organization on Monday. He comes to Oklahoma City with experience in the North American Hockey League, having served as Director of Media and Broadcasting with the Bismarck Bobcats for two seasons (2021-23). While in Bismarck, Berberian won the league’s Broadcaster of the Year award in 2022. He also called men’s and women’s hockey at Syracuse University, his alma mater, from 2017-21.

“We are fortunate to have Cory join our hockey family,” Mary Anne Choi, owner and governor of the Oklahoma Warriors, said. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are excited to have him as part of our team.”

As the “Voice of the Warriors,” Berberian will provide play-by-play for every Warriors game, host the team’s coaches show, conduct interviews, and produce content for all in-arena and social media platforms. He will cover the team’s main camp at Blazers Ice Centre this week, then make his on-air debut at the North American Hockey League showcase in September.

A native of Towaco, N.J., Berberian graduated from Syracuse in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast and digital journalism and a minor in economics.
